In addition to the release of FORUM at the RANZCO, we will also be showcasing our new integration solution for the OR, CALLISTO eye. The CALLISTO eye theatre management system has been specifically designed to meet the needs of ophthalmic surgery, delivering the following functionalities:
- Theatre planning (day list) with documentation of procedures (scanning consumables, OR report)
- Bi-directional connection with FORUM for diagnostic data upload and video/image storage
- Central touchscreen station (controls CALLISTO eye, OPMI Lumera i and 700 microscopes, MediLive Trio EyeŽ)
- Z-Align module for “live” registration and accurate axis alignment of toric IOL’s
- Video recording capability
CALLISTO eye is essentially a data cockpit to help manage patient data and theatre work flow. Patient diagnostic data is imported, cases are recorded, consumables are scanned and post-op notes are stored. All of this is done quickly and flawlessly, via the bi-directional connection to FORUM.
CALLISTO eye also introduces the Z-Align module designed to ensure the accurate alignment of toric IOL’s during surgery. The alignment is enabled by first of all by superimposing a 0-180˚ reference axis line over the video signal of the eye. Then a second target axis line is superimposed over the video to visualise the exact axis desired. During the procedure the reference and target lines are always visible via “live” tracking of the limbus, ensuring the highest standard of care and accuracy is achieved during the procedure to optimise the refractive outcome.
CALLISTO eye will be available as two models. The first, titled OR Cockpit, delivers all the functionality for control of all intra-operative devices, Z-Align for toric IOL alignment and capture of intra-operative images and videos. The second, titled OR Manager adds all the operating room management and integration benefits to the entry model OR Cockpit, including barcode scanning plus connection to your EMR provider and FORUM.
