After 3 years I still find my position very rewarding, both financially and in terms of job satisfaction. The position on a day to day level is very busy, and in three years I have not once looked at the clock wanting the day to end. Generally, you are wishing for more in hours in the day to get a little more done. This is a great mindset to be in during your working day.
What distinguishes Carl Zeiss from others is Product Quality and Reputation. The quality of the product speaks for itself, with microscopes over 30 years old still being used. Each time you install a ZEISS microscope into a hospital there is a real excitement in getting the new piece of equipment. The surgeons may be used to using a microscope with 20 year old technology, so gaining some of the benefits of today’s technology is a very exciting experience. The docs are excited, the nurses often gain visualisation through camera systems and monitors and ultimately the new microscopes will improve the surgical outcomes for the patient.
